Our Goals

UBC's History Students Association has three main goals:

Working with UBC's History Department- we work with professors and staff to organize events and promote the Department! We also want to help students learn how to navigate the Department, work with professors, and more.

Creating a UBC History community- we organize and host events meant to bring UBC History students together! Whether you're interested in trivia, historical films, or simply hanging out, there's an event for you. Come meet us and other History students, and join us in growing UBC's History community!

Ensuring UBC History is safe and welcoming to all- we strongly believe that every UBC History class must be respectful and available to all students, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, religion, national origin, or other factors. While discussion and scholarly disagreement are integral to the practice of History, discrimination and insensitivity are not welcome in our courses. The HSA is committed to hearing marginalized students' experiences and pushing the Department to implement appropriate safeguards for all students.
